God Sees All

Updated: Sep 29

“The LORD looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men.” (Psalms 33:13)

The word that was translated looketh actually means to scan and consider intently and implies to regard with favor, pleasure or care. From the throne of heaven, the Lord God can see all things concerning man, the good, the bad and the ugly. Nothing escapes His eyes. That alone should give man pause, but the wicked actually believe that God doesn’t see. “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3) Nothing is hidden from the Lord, not even our thoughts. “And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:27) Paul in Romans is speaking about Jesus Who is in heaven as our high priest interceding for us. He knows our thoughts. The Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Spirit know our thoughts. “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 23:24)

The Almighty is very much interested in man and all things that concern man. Some doubt because of all the evil, wickedness and sorrow in the world, but their ignorance of God’s history of man causes them to blame Him. The earth is the devil’s ruling place. We are in his world. And wickedness will abound more and more. Jesus said, “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” (Matthew 24:7-12) Even the love of many faithful will grow cold because of all the iniquity that abounds. “...But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” (Romans 5:20) God’s grace through Jesus abounds more than the wickedness of the devil.

Doesn’t Scripture say that God is in control? All these things seem confusing and contradictory, but we must take into account all of God’s history of mankind. God is in control of all things. He will put a stop to all the wickedness and evil soon in His perfect time. There are many who belong to God who haven’t even been born. God knows all things past, present and future. Man, who is born in sin must be born again. There are still those who belong to God that haven’t come into the kingdom of God. And because He sees the future, He is waiting for them. When all things are completed then He will put a stop to the devil’s nonsense. God can and God will. In the meantime, we are here where the devil rules. Jesus alluded to it. “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in Me.” (John 14:30) When we are born again of God, we remain in this world, but the Lord has assigned angels to watch over us who minister to us. “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14) This world is in darkness. But we are light and shine our light of God in this dark earth. “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” (Matthew 5:14) We are not immune to the trouble of this world.  Jesus has said to us, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) Jesus has overcome the world. He has prevailed and has the victory. And we in Jesus have already prevailed and have the victory in this world.

When we are in tribulation, it doesn’t feel like victory. We pray “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” without realizing what we are praying. It’s a done deal in heaven because the past, present and future are all realized in heaven. When we pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” we are saying, victory is already a done deal in heaven, bring that victory to earth. That is faith. And faith moves mountains, obstacles, walls and barriers! God said, “So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) We speak God’s Word which will accomplish God’s will.

God sees all from heaven. Nothing is hidden from Him. Yes, He does see the suffering and the wickedness, but He has placed in this world His light in His children to shine goodness, love, peace and joy by proclaiming His word which accomplishes His will.
